My Own Pet Peeve
Sweatshirt – Target (girls section!!! Similar here) | Pinstripe Blouse – NY&Co (Old) | Riding Boots – Coach (want these, obvs) | Arm Candy – Burberry Watch; J.Crew Black Bangle
Confession: I never would have worn this outfit 5 years ago. Wearing black and brown together used to be my biggest pet peeve – number 1 on my list of “what not to wear”. And I’m not sure when that changed, but I have slowly but surely become the biggest offender of my own pet peeve. Don’t get me wrong – it has to be the right shade of brown (I still cringe if I see chocolate brown paired with black) and the rest of the outfit has to lend itself to the black/brown pairing, but overall I’m a fan.
There are no hard and fast rules for pairing black with brown, but a good rule of thumb is to make sure there are at least 2 “brown” toned pieces to the outfit. For this look – the gold sequined polka dots on the sweatshirt have brown undertones so the brown boots don’t look mismatched or out of place.
Uneasy about mixing black and brown? Try adding a pop of leopard or tortoiseshell, which both seamlessly incorporate both black and brown and will help to tie the two shades together.
So tell me, what are your biggest fashion pet peeves?
Target – One Day Sale
Today Target is having a one-day 20% off sale on clothing, shoes and accessories – and it’s no secret that I have a major slight obsession with Target. In fact, I’m wearing head-to-toe Target as we speak. So it should come as no surprise that my “wish list” is nearly a mile long. Check out all the fabulous items I would love to add to my wardrobe, and let me know your faves! And don’t forget to use “ONEDAY” at checkout for 20% off your purchase!

Leopard Booties
Leopard booties have been #1 on my wishlist for a while. I finally took the plunge and I am so happy with my purchase. As far as I’m concerned, these booties are perfection. They have a nice sturdy heel and a padded footbed, making them as comfortable as they are cute. I am looking forward to wearing these babies over and over.

Camo Style Day
Friday was declared “Camo Style Day” by some of my Instagram favs, so obviously I had to participate (any excuse to wear camo, right?!). When I was first considering buying camo pants my first thought was “Are they worth it? Will I really wear them that often?” And to that, I can say a resounding YES. I’ve worn them with stripes, I’ve worn them with leopard, I’ve even worn them with plaid. They have become a staple in my wardrobe. So, if you are still on the fence about camo – take the plunge. If you’re anything like me, you won’t regret it.
Camo Pants – Target | Pink Sweatshirt – Forever 21 (Old. Similar, Similar) | White Polkadot Blouse – Old Navy | Shoes – Tory Burch (Similar)
Since camo is a masculine print, I always like to pair it with a little something girly and what is more girly than wearing 3 different shades of pink? The sweater, necklace and shoes are all varying shades of pink adding texture and depth to the outfit. This might be my favorite camo pairing yet! Take a look at all the ways I’ve worn camo below, and let me know your favorite.
Friday Finds: J.Crew Factory
I don’t know why I always torture myself. I KNOW that I’ve already spent my budget for the month (which is sad since we are only halfway through) and I should avoid online “browsing” at all costs. But I never do. So of course when I saw that the J.Crew Factory was having a 30% off everything sale, I had to check it out. The following items are the ones that made it into my cart – and I might have to borrow from my December budget to get at least a few of them…
Leopard is my Favorite Color
Can you ever really go wrong with leopard? I hope it never goes out of style (but let’s be honest I would probably still wear it even if it did). I kept this outfit relatively simple (and by simple I mean that there is only one pattern in the outfit) but the coated jeans in oxblood/maroon/bordeaux (whatever you want to call it) add a fun touch. I added a classic chambray, my favorite new sparkly necklace and my fabulous Tory boots to complete the look.

Currently Craving: Elbow Patches
I don’t know what it is about elbow patches, but I want anything and everything that has them on it. They turn an ordinary blazer or sweater from drab to fab and if I was more of a DIYer, I might try and transform some (all) of my bland old sweaters myself. But despite my best intentions (and several Pinterest boards), I lack the patience and skill for any sort of DIY project. So instead of attempting to be crafty (and ultimately ruining my sweaters), I have scoured the internet for the best elbow patches for all budgets. Check out my picks below, and let me know which are your favorite! Since I sadly can’t have them all, help a girl prioritize!
